Approved cell therapies in Boao Lecheng and their registered prices

19 entries across six hospitals: which technology, for which diagnosis, in which form and at which price announced by the zone administration. These are the hospitals' public prices, not ours; no such procedure in the zone is offered below them.

Where the figures come from. Since March 2025 the administration of the Boao Lecheng pilot zone has been publishing approvals of cell technologies for clinical use in batches, together with each hospital's registered price per procedure. It is the only regime in mainland China where such technologies are used lawfully on a paid basis; since 1 May 2026, cell procedures outside such regimes are illegal.

How to read the table. The price is per unit — one injection, one session or one course, as the hospital announced it. Where a course consists of several administrations we also show the course total. The dollar conversion is approximate, at about ¥7.2 per $1.

Entries are grouped by hospital: an approval always has an address, and a technology on one line does not transfer to another hospital or another diagnosis.

What it means

Registry approval: what it gives you and what it does not

Four things worth understanding before you compare the numbers.

  • Approval is a legal status, not proof

A permit from the zone administration means a hospital may lawfully use the technology in patients for the approved indication. It says nothing about the strength of the evidence: for most entries that evidence is early-phase.

  • Tied to one hospital and one indication

Each line of the registry is a specific hospital, a specific diagnosis and a specific route of administration. The same technology at another hospital, or for another diagnosis, is not covered.

  • The price covers the procedure only

Diagnostics, hospital stay beyond the procedure, accommodation, transfers and interpreting are not included. They are costed separately, and we send the estimate in writing before you book flights.

  • The hospital's physician decides the indication

Being in the registry does not mean you qualify for it. Whether a technology is indicated for you is decided by the physician after an in-person work-up; we do not replace that decision.

Plainly

What is not in the registry

If you are offered a cell programme that is not on this list, it is not necessarily a scam — but it is a reason to ask questions. Our method pages carry a “Status and evidence” block for exactly that.

  • Anti-age stem-cell infusions

Systemic MSC infusions “for rejuvenation” are absent from the zone's registry. Such programmes are offered as wellness, not as approved treatment.

  • Exosomes and “immunomodulation”

Injectable exosomes and generic “immune support programmes” are not on the list. That is not a ban, but it is not an approval either: ask for the legal basis.

  • Neurology and paediatric diagnoses

There is no cell therapy for stroke sequelae, multiple sclerosis, autism or cerebral palsy in the registry. Two large phase 3 trials in stroke showed no effect.

  • What to ask if a method is not listed

The permit number, the hospital, the indication and the price per unit. A normal answer is a document. “Proprietary method” is a reason to end the conversation.

How the registry relates to MedBridge pricing

Cell and immune therapies on our pricing page are listed at no less than the zone's registered prices: you pay the hospital directly against its invoice, we add no markup to medicine, and we cannot make it cheaper than the registry.

If you see “stem cells in China” well below these figures, it is most likely not these cells, not this hospital, or not the zone at all. Send us the offer you are comparing and we will go through it together with your records — free, and in writing.
