Treatment in China — in its only state-run medical zone

Not for everything. Standard care for most conditions you can get at home, often faster. People come here for three things: cell and regenerative therapies not yet available in their country, a full diagnostic picture in four days rather than months of appointments, and a second opinion from a different clinical school. If your case doesn't fit one of those, we say so.

No. Cellular and regenerative programmes are considered only by medical indication, after consultation and diagnostics. They don't replace standard care and don't promise a specific result — decisions are made by physicians.

Online, you can start with a preliminary review of your documents. The medical plan is formed by a physician after consultation and, if needed, in-person diagnostics.

A specialist physician or board. MedBridge coordinates documents, translation, communication, the trip and support.

They are seen by the physician reviewing them and, only with your consent, by the hospital that would treat you. Nothing is sold, shared for marketing or used for anything other than your case. Translations and the written opinion are yours. Sending records to us means they are processed in China — the privacy policy sets out exactly how.

The check-up has one stated price: $2,470 (17,800 ¥) for one person or $3,440 for two sharing a room — four days, diagnostics, a 5★ hotel room, transfers and coordinator included. Cell and regenerative programmes are priced by the hospital after diagnostics; the pricing page gives the usual ranges. You pay the hospital directly, by its own invoice, with no markup from us, and nothing is prepaid for coordination. Our coordination is not built into the hospital's invoice — the hospital charges you its own prices, and the terms of our work are agreed with you in writing before anything is booked. Before you book you receive an indicative estimate in writing.

Assume not. Treatment here is self-pay, and cell therapies are rarely reimbursed anywhere. The hospital issues its official invoices and reports, which you can submit to your insurer — but whether anything is reimbursed is between you and them.

The check-up is four days from landing. For a cell programme the physician sets out the timeline at the review stage: the laboratory work on your own cells alone takes 10–14 days, and a follow-up check comes 2–4 weeks after the infusion. The written review of your records before you travel usually takes a few days.

Before any procedure the treating physician explains the known risks and contraindications, and nothing starts without your written consent. You leave with the hospital's written summary and plan, translated into English. Follow-up questions go to the treating physician through your coordinator, including by telemedicine, and your coordinator stays reachable after you return. We do not promise outcomes, and we say so before you travel.

Yes. The check-up has a price for two sharing a room, and a companion is welcome at consultations with your consent. If they want their own records reviewed, each case is looked at separately.

Yes. Dr Yang reads records in English himself; records in other languages are prepared by our translators first. Your coordinator corresponds with you in English from the first message. At the hospital a medical interpreter is with you at every appointment, and the written opinion and estimate come to you in English.

For most patients — no. Hainan runs its own visa-free scheme: citizens of 61 countries (as of August 2026) may stay up to 30 days, and medical treatment is explicitly listed as an accepted purpose of entry. One condition: fly into Hainan directly — Sanya (SYX) or Haikou (HAK). A connection through Beijing or Shanghai means entering mainland China first, where the Hainan scheme does not apply. Your coordinator confirms the rules for your passport before you buy tickets.

Yes. The programmes are outpatient, and the cluster sits on a resort island: between clinic visits you stay at a seaside hotel. Many guests pair diagnostics or therapy with a holiday.

We welcome it. The Boao Lecheng medical zone — a state pilot project running since 2013 — and its hospitals are openly documented in official sources; the list of clinics we work with is on this site. Treatment is paid directly to the clinic by official invoice, decisions are made by physicians, and we do not promise medical outcomes.

You will be told so directly, and the programme will not begin — nobody treats here without indications. That is the cluster's rule and our position: an honest 'not needed' beats a course for the sake of a course.
