MELLSSER is the hospital that bet on precision. It opened in March 2023 and belongs to the Lizcar group. Its diagnostic base is assembled like a reference centre's: what elsewhere has to be gathered piece by piece at different addresses is done here in one visit and inside one system.
In 2025 the hospital joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network — an international network into which Mayo Clinic selects hospitals for the sharing of medical expertise. The ceremony took place on 21 August 2025 in Sanya. Per the hospital's own materials the certificate was presented by Eric Moore, Medical Director of Mayo Clinic International, and Royston Lek (陆扬龙), Mayo Clinic International's Asia-Pacific director; press reports of the ceremony name Royston Lek — in the presence of officials from the Hainan health commission and the zone administration.
What that means in practice: the collaboration is built around knowledge sharing, alignment of clinical pathways and staff development, with cancer prevention, sleep medicine and neurology named as priorities. It is not a Mayo Clinic branch and not "treatment to American protocols" — but nor is it a decorative certificate: not everyone is admitted.
Beyond diagnostics the hospital works across international medicine, aesthetic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and ophthalmology.
