Hainan Boao Luyi Hospital

Hainan Boao Luyi Hospital is a non-profit general Tier-3 hospital combining care, research, prevention and rehabilitation. It began as a key medical cooperation project between Shandong province and Hainan and admitted its first patients on 28 December 2023.

Scale: a 30 mu site, 22,000 m² of planned floor area and a total investment of 200 million yuan. Planned capacity is 200 beds; phase one delivered 7,010.9 m² with 25 beds open. We say it plainly: this is not a vast complex but a compact clinic with a strong medical staff.

The staff is in fact the point: 75 physicians, of whom 20 hold the chief grade and 40 the associate chief grade. The focus disciplines are cancer prevention and treatment, aesthetic and anti-aging medicine, internal medicine, orthopaedics, gynaecology, rehabilitation medicine and clinical nutrition.

From materials gathered on site at the hospital, three further blocks are developed here. First, the immune direction and a personal cell bank: material is collected while the body is healthy and stored for possible later use by indication. Second, nervous-system recovery: NEUROLITH transcranial pulse stimulation, DTI neuroimaging and rehabilitation programmes. Third, functional medicine: work with the microbiome, including faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), nutritional support and health-management programmes.

Cancer screening with genetic testing and a men's health direction, including minimally invasive methods, operate separately. Whether a specific programme is possible is determined by the results of the work-up.
